Trek for a Cause
There are several non-profit organisations (generally known as NGOs) that provide selfless service to the underprivileged and weak amidst us. Their mission is to make a difference to the lives of special children, differently abled persons and even extend their services to public welfare.
These NGOs require funds regularly to provide their services effectively. Due to the nature of their registrations, such NGOs cannot get involved in commercial or profit seeking activities. Hence the need to seek donations from public and charitable institutions. NALS has identified such organisations and partnered with them for fund raising activities through treks and outdoor programs.
How it works?
NALS has designed programs that are of various durations and prices. These programs are know as "Trek for a Cause" and are listed below. These programs are open to general public, groups and individuals. For every participant in these programs, NALS will contribute a certain portion of the trek price to an NGO selected by you. The amount being contributed for the NGO is mentioned in the section "Program Description" of each program. The participant hereby agrees that his/her contact details can be provided by NALS to the NGO for their direct acknowledgement.
How does it benefit all?
This will result in a Win-Win situation for all as below:
- The NGO will get funds periodically from these programs and continue to render service
- You - the participant, will experience the trek and fulfillment through the good cause being associated. It is well known that such an association to a cause improves our self esteem and emotional well being
- NALS gets to deliver an outdoor service and recover its costs

Area of Work : Alpha to Omega is an organisation with over 25 years of experience that uses research-based techniques and instructional programmes to build and strengthen cognitive skills and help children learn critical content in schools.
INTRODUCTION
Children with learning challenges are often typecast. In school, they may struggle to focus, seem unwilling to learn and unable to keep up with their grade level. However, such challenges often impact children in other ways; leaving them socially alienated, unable to maintain healthy relationships, and suffering from low self-esteem
Without the right support, these children will continue to feel self-conscious, sad, angry, and helpless. And without specialist intervention, these children will be taught to accept that way of life; they will be taught not to aspire. |
